Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre
The Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre is home to the Joyce Schneider Auditorium, a 500-seat theatre with state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, hydraulic orchestra pit, fly tower and box office, and the Convention Centre. The Convention Centre, also known as the Macquarie Auditorium, is a multi-purpose, flat-floor auditorium that can seat between 500 and 750 people and boasts a function bar, commercial kitchen, and several foyers.
The Theatre and Convention Centre has become an important part of Dubbo’s business and cultural scene since opening in 2010. Over the years the Theatre has hosted many fantastic events, including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshows, the Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase, performances by Opera Australia, concerts by big-name musical artists, musical theatre, local amateur theatre and performances from the prestigious Bell Shakespeare Company.
The Convention Centre is often hired for large and small business conferences, meetings, and exhibitions, as well as a variety of functions, including weddings, balls, gala dinners, and workshops. Smaller function areas situated within the complex include the Oxley Room (a smaller auditorium)
