The event is to be held from the 1st to the 4th of November 2021. Melbourne Cup Day falls on the 2nd of November 2021 and constitutes a rest day for competitors. A special Medley 2BBB, to be played over 9 holes, will be held on Melbourne Cup Day, with an optional Melbourne Cup Luncheon also forming part of the event.
The Men’s Strokeplay Championship, playing for the Des Cody Shield, is a 54-hole competition, with contenders playing 18 holes on each day of the competition. The event is open to amateur male golfers who:
Non-members of the NSWVGA or its interstate equivalent, are also eligible to play the championship but must pay an entry fee in addition to the green fees that apply to all registrants.

The event is to be played at Dubbo Golf Club, a 27-hole championship golf course set in natural bush surrounds, close to the western bank of the Macquarie River.
